Ready to launch back into Night City this September for Phantom Liberty? In this post, we’re explaining the new minimum PC requirements for Cyberpunk 2077 and taking a look at what this DLC will bring to Cyberpunk.

When Will Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty Release?

Launching September 26th, Cyberpunk 2077’s first paid DLC is set to bring more than just new content to the game. Clocking in at a whopping £24.99 on Steam, Phantom Liberty is certainly setting our expectations high. A risky play as great expectations didn’t work out so well for Cyberpunk at launch.

Phantom Liberty – CD Project Red

There is no doubt in our minds that Cyberpunk 2077 is a good game now. However, at launch, that story was very different, and CD Project Red need this DLC launch to go off without a hitch if they stand a chance at winning back some more devoted fans.

New Content

Self-described as a spy-thriller adventure in this DLC, we return as cyber-enhanced mercenary V. When the orbital shuttle of the President of the New United States of America is shot down over the deadliest district of Night City, there’s only one person who can save her. A cyberpunk for hire, V will need to take on an impossible mission… Hang on one minute! This is just the 1981 film Escape from New York.

Phantom Liberty is set to introduce a new area for us to explore. Dogtown is a district riddled with secrets and opportunities for those willing to do whatever it takes. Alongside this new area is a unique skill tree, cyberware, and vehicles. What’s more, the chance to overdo it with the cyberware enhancements and get cyber-psychosis will add a new level of risk to upgrading yourself.

Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty PC Requirements

Yes, the rumors are true. CD Project Red have changed Cyberpunk 2077’s PC system requirements for this new update. In a statement announced alongside pre-orders for the DLC (because pre-ordering a digital copy of DLC makes sense), CD Project Red announced the updated requirements were designed to ensure players have the best possible experience in game.

“As we kick off the pre-orders for Phantom Liberty, we want to update our current system requirements to ensure that players have a better understanding of what will be needed to run Cyberpunk 2077, and make it easy to assess the expected performance.”

“The new system requirements are designed to be more up to date, adding support to new GPUs not available at launch, and targeting a resolution output of either 1080p or 4K for specific in-game presets.”

“The changes to the minimum requirements are a reflection of our new standard of requirements, which we believe better represent the minimum PC configuration required to run the game at 1080p, while maintaining an average of 30 FPS at low preset.”
